I have had an abnormal fear of the dentist all my life which led to sever gum disease and I was terrified of what I needed to have done. Dr. Thurm took his time to explain everything that had to be done and he treated me with such kindness and care it was wonderful. I had extractions done, scaling and filings under anesthesia so I did not have to hear or feel what he was doing. I woke up and Dr. Thurm put in a bridge so that when I left I had teeth. The pain and bleeding was minimal and the staff at the office were amazing. They were reassuring and empathetic as well as informative and professional. I dreaded this experience but now I look forward to seeing Dr. Thurm to continue my treatment. If you are a dental phobe like me, Dr. Thurm is your man.

Always a pleasure going to our favorite dentist! Most people dread the trip to the dentist but not my family. As a matter of fact, we travel from West Chester, PA to come to our appointments and will continue to do so until I am no longer able to drive. I have an absolutely devastating fear of dentists, and had it not been for excruciating tooth pain, I was content to not visit a dental office. My first visit, while in such pain, was probably the most gentle experience I’ve had with a dental office. The staff was definitely sympathetic to my fear, and instead of treating it dismissively or by treating me like a child, they truly made me feel they understood and were prepared to bend over backwards to make sure my experience was nothing like the prior ones that left me with such dentalphobia. The second appointment was for surgery to extract teeth. I feel like ten years of dental neglect was fixed while I slept. Everyone from the person who greeted me when I went in to the anesthesiologist and the dentist himself treated me with understanding for my fears, professionalism, and gentleness. I am now 24 hours post op, and have faith I have found a dentist I can return to for routine care. Dr. Thurm and his staff have been nothing but amazing to work with.

Outstanding experience! I have avoided the dentist for 35 years due to fear. I honestly thought having my teeth taken care of was completely out of the question until I heard Dr. Thurm’s practice advertised on the radio. From the moment I walked in, everyone on his staff was incredibly friendly and were acutely aware of your trepidation. While in the room waiting to see the Dr. I felt myself begin to come unglued as the tears started streaming down my face. As soon as Dr. Thurm walked in, his demeanor and respect for my obvious struggle calmed me down and put me at ease. Not an easy thing to accomplish…. The exam was a “non-poking” piece of cake and not at all what I was expecting. He listened to my concerns and asked questions before offering a treatment plan. He accommodated my tight budget and adjusted to help make my treatment a possibility. I can’t believe I am saying this but I am actually EXCITED to go back. Who even says that about a trip to the dentist????? Run, don’t walk to his office. He gives you hope when you think there is none….

THE best dentist in the area! I have been going to the Thurm Dental Group since my children were in grade school – they now have children of their own. The entire staff is terrific ( a special shout-out to Lisa!). I have had a lot of dental work done and have never experienced ANY discomfort or pain. If you had told me a few years ago that I would be smiling, and genuinely happy about the way my teeth look today, I would have told you that you were crazy. I have kept my smile hidden for years, not wanting to show my teeth…ashamed of the way they look after years of neglect. I experience dental anxiety, to the point of putting off the care, for years. I knew this was not a good plan, but I couldn’t bring myself to show up to appointments, knowing I would gag on the x-rays or dental procedures. I would dread the appointment for days, or weeks leading up to it. The dentist I had been seeing did all he could to help me, but we both knew I needed more work than I could tolerate. He recommended I go and see Dr Thurm, to talk about sedation dentistry. It literally took me months to get the courage to dial Dr. Thurm’s office to make the appointment. I went in for a consultation, and even though I did need a LOT of work, I felt that my fears were heard and absolutely understood. Dr Thurm quickly formulated a “game plan” for the work I needed, giving me cost savings options along the way. The staff was kind, understanding and I felt more at ease than I have in years. I cannot thank Dr Thurm and his staff enough for helping to transform my smile!!
